NICARNICA is a highly specialized company developing UV and IR imaging technologies to identify SO2 and hazardous ash particles in the air.

The company's technology comes from over 20 years of work by Co-Founder Dr. Fred Prata in the area of volcano observation. The systems were developed for the detection and measurement of SO2 and volcanic ash. These technologies can be utilized as both ground based systems as well as airborne solutions for use on aircraft.

Cooperation between Nicarnica/NILU and EasyJet

A joint announcement between Nicarnica, NILU and EasyJet with the support of the UK Civil Aviation Authority took place in London on June 4th. The announcement comes just weeks after Europe experienced its greatest disruption to aviation due to volcanic ash as a result of the eruption of Eyjafjallajoekull in Iceland. Read More
