Nicarnica
Nicarnica AS is a spin-off company of the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU). The company was founded in 2009 to commercialize the proprietary technology developed by senior researcher Dr. Fred Prata which utilizes UV and IR imaging cameras to measure SO2 and ash
particles in the air.

The company has developed two concepts to date. The IR camera system called NicAIR and the UV variation called EnviCam. New versions of each of these systems is currently being developed to meet specific market and client needs.

In 2010 Nicarnica expanded its operations with the launch of Nicarnica Aviaiton AS in the fall of 2010. This daughter company will focus on developing airborne solutions for aviation.
